The platform game Nocturnal arrives on June 7th for PC and consoles
Sunnyside Games and Dear Villagers announced on Wednesday (17) that the platform game Nocturnal is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
In Nocturnal, players must return to the protagonist's home and investigate what happened, relying on fire to extinguish the forces that have taken over their homeland.
The game also features various options for players who want to take more risks and overcome great challenges. It is possible to enable a series of features focused on speedrunning, such as faster transitions, skippable scenes, and a pausable timer.
"The reception of Nocturnal at digital and physical events like Steam Next Fest and PAX East has been extremely positive, so we're thrilled that people can finally play the full game," said Sunnyside Games co-founder Gabriel Sonderegger. "We wanted Nocturnal's gameplay to flow naturally between fast-paced, frantic action and hair-raising tension, with its constant depletion of light sources. It's an exciting balancing act that we think platforming fans will really enjoy."
Furthermore, if you're truly fearless and seeking something more serious, challenging, and worthy of your audacity, you can play in permadeath mode, where you only have one life to go through the entire journey.
Nocturnal will be released on June 7th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
"After a difficult journey across a turbulent sea, Ardeshir, a soldier of the eternal flame, returns to his island, Nahran. A peculiar mist is covering the island, and the only way to cross it is to wield oneself as fire to clear a path. But the Mist can also unveil incredible places and grant powerful abilities to those willing to explore its mysteries.
As a millennium soldier, you'll have to uncover what happened to your brethren to free your island from the dark mist. Challenging combat and various enemies stand between you and your goal: to free the island from darkness."
