The Last of Us: Part I Has a $100 Version, and It's Already Sold Out

Out of stock at PlayStation Direct.

Nobody can definitively decide whether The Last of Us: Part I is a PS5 remake we really need or not, but that hasn't put a stop to the most expensive version of the game from already selling out. Available only in the US and exclusive to the PlayStation Direct website, the $99.99 physical Firefly Edition is already out of stock.

The special version of the game includes a steelbook case and the four comic books that make up The Last of Us: American Dreams complete with new cover artwork. American Dreams is a prequel to The Last of Us and explains how Ellie met Riley, the co-star of DLC Left Behind. This expansion will be bundled in with the PS5 remake. Furthermore, there'll be digital bonuses that unlock items and modes early as well as skins for different weapons.

As the internet debates over whether the PS5 remake is really needed or not, with comparison shots already doing the rounds, it's perhaps funny to see the most expensive version already sell out. It proves there's still very much a hunger for Naughty Dog's 2013 masterpiece remade with modern visuals and updated controls.

If you missed out on the physical version, there's still a Digital Deluxe Edition of The Last of Us: Part 1 available on the PS Store that includes all the digital bonuses of the Firely Edition for £79.99/$79.99. Obviously, you just won't get the steelbook and American Dream comic books.
