System Shock Remake Could Be a March 2023 Release, With a Bit of Luck

That might be the Stockholm Syndrome speaking.

The long-in-development System Shock remake may finally launch in March 2023, if an updated Steam listing for the title is anything to go by. The change was noted by industry analyst and insider Wario64, over on Twitter.

This particular incarnation of System Shock began life as a Kickstarter project, with a PS4 version of the game announced all the way back in 2016. After a series of delays and years of laying low, the title re-emerged, but information has been relatively scant since, aside from the news that the future of the franchise is now in the hands of publisher Tencent.

It's possible that the March date is a placeholder; we will just have to wait and see on that score. The last trailer we got maintained that System Shock would still launch in 2022, so it's entirely possible we see more from this one before the end of the year, as well.

What do you make of this whole situation?
