Switch Overwatch Players Can Now Team Up With Xbox, PlayStation And PC Heroes
The cross-play beta has arrived.
Overwatch has made some massive announcements in recent times under the new game director Aaron Keller, and today sees the arrival of a long-awaited update: cross-play.
Yes, Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and PC heroes can now play together. Just be mindful that it's still technically in beta. In order to participate in cross-play, players will need to have access to a Battle.net account, which can be created for free. From here, you must link you console game and account (PC players obviously won't be required to do this), and then log in.

You can now group up with friends across the globe on PC, @xbox, @playstation and @nintendo.

Players do not have to opt into cross-play and it's noted how this new feature does not include cross-progression. In other words, your progress and collection content will not carry over between sessions on different systems. In competitive matchmaking, PC players and console players will not be mixed in the same pool for competitive matches.
You can read the full cross-play FAQ over on Blizzard's website. As part of this, all players will receive a Golden Loot Box to celebrate. Will you be trying out the new cross-play feature in Overwatch?
