Come on Nintendo, make it happen.
In September last year, developer PlatinumGames said it would "definitely" be interested in porting the title to the Switch, and now, to add to this, former Nintendo staffer Takaya Imamura - who helped create the series, worked on Zero as a supervisor and assisted Shigeru Miyamoto with the series' character design - has filed a request on social media.
Taking to Twitter, Inamura acknowledged how "six years" had passed since the release of Zero on Wii U, and mentioned how now would be a good time to port the game to Switch. He's even willing to participate in a "sequel" to the Star Fox Zero animation "Star Fox - The Battle Begins". Here's a rough translation:
"Dear Nintendo, Six years have passed since the release of "Star Fox Zero" today. I think there are some issues, but please port it to the switch. Also, if you can produce a sequel to the animation, we will also be in charge of scenarios and content. I look forward to working with you. Best regards"

本日で「スターフォックス零」発売から6年が経過致しました。課題もあると思いますが是非switchへの移植をお願い致します。またアニメーションの続編も制作して頂けるのであれば、シナリオ、コンテも担当致します。
よろしくお願い致します。

Inamura added how there might be "some issues". This could be in reference to the unique control system, which would require some adjustments. In saying this, Nintendo has been able to overcome gameplay/control issues in the past, as demonstrated in titles like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - adding full button controls to the Switch remaster of the Wii game.
