In South Korea, known for the strength of Hallyu (the cultural wave that popularized K-pop and K-dramas), it is raising its ambitions in the gaming industry. WEMADE MAX and MADNGINE announced Project TAL, an open-world action RPG that promises an epic and AAA experience inspired by Korean folklore. This is a positive point for the global gaming scene, gaining a new competitor with a focus on cultural authenticity.

The release of Project TAL is scheduled for 2027 on PC and consoles.

The announcement trailer revealed a dynamic and cinematic combat system, a highlight in the genre. Players will be able to climb colossal creatures, explore weak points of enemies and perform tactical counterattacks alongside AI-controlled companions. These allies will have specific abilities and roles (support, magic or defense) and will react to the player's style, promising fluid and strategic battles.

The CEO of WEMADE MAX, Sohn Myun-seok, highlighted the strategy behind the game:

"Project TAL aims to combine the emotional strength of an engaging narrative with the intense action of a classic RPG, delivering a AAA experience that not only impresses visually, but also stands out by delving into Korean cultural roots with depth and authenticity, aiming for a prominent space in the global scene."

The bet of WEMADE MAX and MADNGINE in a AAA open-world title focused on Korean cultural elements is a statement of intentions to compete with major productions from other Asian markets.
