Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Hams It Up in Super Bowl Spot
The first Sonic the Hedgehog movie was arguably one of the biggest surprises of recent times, as it was actually a thoroughly entertaining watch. The sequel, then, is ratcheting things up: adding Idris Elba’s Knuckles to the cast, and generally pulling out all of the stops when it comes to special effects. This new Super Bowl spot even includes the Death Egg Robot, which is surely going to be a memorable set-piece in the final film.
It’s looking like a big year for flicks based on video game franchises, with Uncharted out today and Super Mario later in the year. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will hit theatres on 1st April in the UK and 8th April in the United States, and we never thought we’d say that we genuinely can’t wait.
