After Ubisoft recently announced that it would not participate in E3, opting to hold its own event, two other companies followed suit: Sega and Tencent.
Sega has stated that, after careful consideration, it has decided not to participate as an exhibitor at E3 2023, but looks forward to sharing future information on announced and unannounced projects.
Tencent also confirmed that it would not participate in the event, according to a spokesperson. While other companies have also opted out, they have yet to make a public announcement.
Devolver Digital, a popular video game publisher, has commented that it has never officially participated in E3 and does not plan to do so this year.
With the absence of PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and now these other companies, rumors of the possible cancellation of the event become more and more likely, making it difficult to resurrect E3 with the glory of other times.
E3 2023 will take place from June 13-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. So far, no statement has been made by the E3 2023 team.
