Rumour: Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster Now Planned for Early 2021

 

Yep, the long rumoured Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster is once again back in the news and this latest slice of information appears to have both a positive and negative takeaway.

 

What is now being dubbed Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, this collection of the original trilogy of titles has now apparently been pushed back internally to early 2021.

 

VentureBeat writer Jeff Grubb, who has been the main source of Mass Effect-related news for a while now, claims this is because the first game isn't currently able to match the quality of the rest of the package.

 

Grubb says it might disappoint fans in its current shape — relating to both visuals and gameplay.

 

Therefore, those working on the project want to do right by the fans, and since they understand the issues they face, wish to delay the title to ensure a quality product upon release.

 

The VentureBeat report continues by stating that Mass Effect 3 will not include its multiplayer modes, but all three games will include all of the downloadable content available.

 

That's certainly a relief, but the article is probably a pretty good indicator as to why EA still hasn't actually announced the remastered collection just yet.

 

It wants to make a good impression after the disappointing Mass Effect: Andromeda and putting out a lacklustre effort could well be the final nail in the coffin for the franchise.

 

That doesn't seem to be what's happening here, however.
