Redout 2 Fills the WipEout Hole in Our Hearts on PS5, PS4 Next Year

While WipEout Omega Collection remains a fantastic entry in Sony's sci-fi racing series, it's made up of the same content we've been playing since the PSP games — albeit majorly prettied up. We've not had a truly new game in the series for a long time, and indie teams have been filling that time with some pretty decent copycats. Redout is one of them, an ultra-fast anti-grav racer from developer 34BigThings. Now, it's back with Redout 2.

Just announced, the sequel calls itself the "next generation of anti-gravity racing", and you can see what it looks like in action with the above trailer. It looks suitably speedy, with lots of sweeping bends, split tracks, and enormous jumps. With the music accompanying the action, it gives off an energetic and fun atmosphere.

According to the official site, there will be 36 tracks, all of which can also be played in reverse. It's also set to feature online multiplayer, deep vehicle customisation, a photo mode, and a soundtrack including Giorgio Moroder and Zardonic.
