Hiroshi Iuchi's next game Ubusuna is still far from complete and will probably release at the very end of the current-gen.

Hiroshi Iuchi is known as the director of Treasure’s Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga. While he left Treasure and now works at M2, he’s currently developing a new Shoot’em up game titled Ubusuna. M2 announced Ubusuna back in 2014 but development updates have been scarce about the game.

Hiroshi Iuchi recently shared a bit more on Ubusuna in an interview in this month’s Dengeki PlayStation magazine. While the magazine isn’t out yet, the main points of the interview have leaked. Here’s a summary of the info, thanks to our comrades from Game’s Talk.

In the interview, Hiroshi Iuchi mentioned that Ubusuna is currently in a playable state, but the game’s graphics aren’t done yet. Coupled with this and a few other unstated reasons, Ubusuna still won’t be releasing anytime soon and will necessitate a lot of time to be finished. Iuchi also jokingly said that Ubusuna will “release at the end of the current generation of consoles”. Ubusuna has no platforms announced yet.

He also stated that the concept behind Ubusuna is making a game which will emphasis and bring out each player’ identity.

As you probably already know, both Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga use something akin to an elemental attributes system as a scoring system. Both use colors. Red, Yellow, and Blue in Radiant Silvergun and black and white in Ikaruga. Hiroshi Iuchi stated that Ubusuna has a similar elemental attributes-like system, but that at the same time, it’s something completely opposite to Ikaruga.
