Let's up the tempo.

Overwatch 2 is taking full advantage of the power of the PS5, and gamers will be able to play the team-based hero shooter at an eye-watering 120fps (provided you have a TV that supports 120hz).

We learned this information after Redditor packersfan1290 posted a screenshot on the Overwatch 2 subreddit, and this was later confirmed by MP1st.

In addition, we now know that Overwatch 2 will support different performance modes (although this isn't a huge surprise). Last-gen consoles won't be able to use this feature, but PS5 players will be able to choose from Resolution, Framerate (which allows for 120fps) and Balanced options.

Overwatch 2 will also support Variable Refresh Rate (on a system level), which will enhance visual performance and minimise screen tearing.

In other Overwatch 2 news, the beta is now live, and the original Overwatch will be superseded upon the launch of the sequel. In addition, we learned what the roadmap for the title will look like, at least initially.

Are you playing the Overwatch 2 beta? Can you tell the difference between 120 and 60fps?
