Violence, revisited.

The preordained date has finally arrived, The Last of Us: Part I is out in the wild, and developer Naughty Dog has released a trailer detailing the game's violent, visceral combat.


The Last of Us: Part II featured a dodge mechanic which has not been backported, and game director Matthew Gallant explains that it would have changed the entire feel of the game when faithfulness to the original was the goal. We also learn more about the game's AI coordinator, and how encounters can play out differently, depending on how you approach them.
