Hyper Scape “Goes Dark” for Upcoming Halloween Event
Ubisoft’s Hyper Scape is well into its second season after launching this summer. The FPS battle royale hasn’t quite met the publisher’s expectations; however, they think it has room to grow. To that end, the team is launching a Halloween event tomorrow. The new trailer shows some of the changes coming to the game for a limited time. Expect new cosmetics, modes, and a whole lot of darkness. Check it out below.
The Hyper Scape Halloween event announcement is pretty typical of holiday events for live games. You can see they’re adding several new cosmetics and giving the world a bit of a makeover to make it spookier. The most interesting thing though is that they’re adding new events.
Of course, as of yet we don’t know for sure what those new modes are. The trailer only mentions they’re coming and, as of this writing, Ubisoft hasn’t published any extra details. That said, the team added Turbo mode about a month after release, which seemed promising. Hopefully, this event sees them find even more success. After all, every online shooter needs its own Lucio Ball mode. And then, just like the McRib, everyone can pretend to enjoy it for two weeks before it goes away “forever.” Except, in this case, forever is about a year or so.
Hyper Scape is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game will come to Xbox Series X/S when those consoles launch on November 10. The Halloween event kicks off tomorrow, so dust that trigger finger off.
