Rockstar also teases some Grand Theft Auto 3 surprises

The “expanded and enhanced versions” of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online are coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on Nov. 11, Rockstar Games announced Tuesday. The upgraded versions of those games will offer “new features and more,” Rockstar said, but did not provide specifics.

Rockstar announced the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of GTA 5 and GTA Online last June. According to the developer, the next-generation updates will feature “a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the console’s powerful new hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever.”

In a news release, Rockstar said updates coming to GTA Online “will include special benefits for players to take advantage of in these expanded and enhanced versions when they drop.” Additionally, Rockstar teased “fun surprises” for the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto 3, “including some specifically for GTA Online players.”

Rockstar’s announcement came as part of a larger update on new content coming to GTA Online and Red Dead Online.

For GTA Online, Rockstar promised “new opportunities for fans of performance and customization upgrades to get together with like-minded gearheads to test and show off their rides free from interference from authorities and other troublemakers.” Rockstar also teased new race types, multi-part robbery missions, and underground car meets later this summer.

More racing content is also coming to Red Dead Online, with new races on May 25. Beyond that, Red Dead Online’s summer update will add “a diverse array of new missions across the world for those looking to step into the criminal underworld.”
