Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut Bundles in New Island Expansion, Coming to PS5 and PS4

Following a few leaks and rumours these past couple of weeks, Sony has confirmed Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut is indeed a thing. It releases for PlayStation 5 and PS4 on 20th August 2021 and will include a new story expansion set on the island of Iki. Instead of a new standalone spin-off game, it appears the rumoured Ghost of Ikishima is simply a DLC add-on for the existing game. The original experience will also be updated with support for Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers on PS5 as well as improved load times and 3D Audio.

The Iki island expansion will contain a new narrative and characters. There will also be "brand new environments to explore, new armor for Jin as well as his horse, new mini-games, new techniques, new enemy types, and much more. There are even new animals to pet!" Trophy enthusiasts can also look forward to new trinkets to unlock. On PS5, lip-sync for the Japanese voice-over will also be offered.

"If you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, you’ll be able to transfer your save to PS5 to pick up where you left off. For new players, the new Iki Island content will be available beginning in Act 2 of Ghost of Tsushima, after you’ve made your way to the Toyotama region." The game will cost $70 on PS5 and $60 on PS4, with digital pre-orders granting you immediate access to the last-gen version to get you started ahead of time.

If you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4 and wish to upgrade to the PS4 version of Director's Cut, it will cost $20. If you want to upgrade a standard PS4 version of Ghost of Tsushima to the Director's Cut on PS5, it will cost $30. If you buy the PS4 version of Director's Cut and then wish to grab the PS5 version, it'll set you back $10. "Additional details about upgrades will be available at PlayStation Store closer to launch."
