Game Pass model "makes no financial sense" for PlayStation 5
The Game Pass is an increasing bet from Microsoft, which seeks to reach a large number of subscribers on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X - possibly even other platforms.
Many consider Game Pass to be the best service of its kind, thanks to an affordable price and an impressive library of games, and that can be a great attraction of the Xbox Series X.
So what about Sony?
Well, PlayStation already has its own service, PS Now, which also has a series of games and exclusives, but unlike what happens with Game Pass, it does not receive recent games from Sony studios, only after a year or two .
The BBC asked Jim Ryan if that strategy would change for PS5, and if they would bet on a model similar to the Game Pass, but the answer was negative: "PlayStation is focused on creating big blockbuster games that cost a lot of money Therefore, a subscription model similar to [the Game Pass] would not make financial sense ".
It is also worth remembering that Sony has already confirmed that some of its next generation games will cost € 79.99, about $500.
