Despite the complications of the ongoing coronavirus crisis, there’ll be big new game reveals at The Game Awards 2020.

Scheduled to stream around the world on 12th December, host Geoff Keighley explained that major publishers urged him to go ahead with the event – and have pledged big content reveals for the showcase.

“The thing that I’m worried about more than anything is that – there’s so much anticipation for the show – is that we don’t have big games to announce to the fans, then that becomes a disappointment too,” he told Variety.

“So, I talked to all the game companies and they’re like, ‘No, we’ve got great content to kind of show fans around games,’ and they’re really excited to show that.”

As always, it’s important to keep your expectations in check, but we’d be shocked if Sony didn’t showcase something new for the PlayStation 5 during the event – it’s always had a very tight relationship with Keighley and his crew.

It’s worth adding that the Japanese giant will likely be nominated for a lot of awards this time as well, as both The Last of Us: Part II and Ghost of Tsushima are destined to feature heavily.
