During Playstation Showcase 2023, publisher Square Enix has finally made available the launch trailer for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XVI, introducing players to a bit of what they can expect in Valisthea.
The trailer also has the mission of showing the first steps of the protagonist Clive Rosfield, as well as sentencing the fate of the so-called Carriers, who are armed with infinite magic.
Not only that, but we get to know the whole truth behind the mysterious Mothercrystals, who do not offer their powers for the use of mankind for historical reasons and for the protection of the species.
Directed by Hiroshi Takai and produced by Naoki Yoshida, Final Fantasy XVI presents a world controlled by six countries: the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, the Holy Empire of Sanbreque, the Kingdom of Waloed, the Republic of Dhalmekia, the Iron Kingdom, and the Crystal Domain.
Clive Rosfield, the firstborn of the Archduke of Rosaria who goes on a quest for revenge after tragic events involving Ifrit; Joshua Rosfield, Clive's younger brother, Phoenix Dominant and heir apparent to Rosaria; and Jill Warrick, a woman from the Northern Territories who is Clive and Joshua's adopted sister and their confidant.
