Electronic Arts (EA) has continued its separation from FIFA, the international football association, marking a new era for digital football games. This is reflected in digital stores, where virtually all FIFA games have been removed, and the name of the digital coins used in the popular Ultimate Team mode in each edition has been changed.
Currently, it's not possible to find any FIFA game, including FIFA 23, in digital stores. Furthermore, the digital currency associated with FIFA 23 and FIFA 22 has had its name changed to FUT 23 and FUT 22, respectively, completely removing the reference to FIFA from the games and digital currency.
These changes indicate a continued distancing between EA and FIFA, showing that EA is taking steps to no longer associate its brand with the FIFA name. Instead, EA is fully focusing on its new title, EA Sports FC 24, marking a new era for its digital football games.
