Electronic Arts (EA) revealed today on Twitter, its plans in production of the popular Marvel character, Black Panther. This project will mark the debut of EA's newly created in-house studio, Cliffhanger Games.

Formed in 2021, the studio is led by Kevin Stephens, former head of Warner's Monolith, known for his work on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War. According to EA, the team also includes former members of the teams behind Halo, God of War and Call of Duty.

Similar to other superhero games, the Black Panther game will be a third-person adventure designed for single-player gameplay. Stephens expressed his vision for the game, stating:

"We want our game to allow players to feel what it's like to be worthy of the Black Panther mantle in unique, story-driven ways. We want Cliffhanger Games to empower everyone on our team as we collaborate to bring this incredible world to life."

Although still in the early stages of development, there is a long journey ahead for the team. However, they recognize the importance of building an experienced team with diverse voices and perspectives. Stephens emphasized the importance of working on a superhero as important as Black Panther.

Last year, EA announced a deal to create "several new games" based on Marvel properties, with the first title being an Iron Man game developed by Motive Studios, known for Dead Space Remake and Star Wars Squadrons.

As fans eagerly await the release of these Marvel-based games, the announcement of a Black Panther game from Cliffhanger Games brings even more excitement.
