Denuvo is removed from The Diofield Chronicle

A new update has been released for The Diofield Chronicle by Square Enix, which removed the Denuvo anti-tamper technology from its PC version. It is unknown if this was an accident or an intentional action, as the official release notes do not mention the removal, but the Steam store page no longer lists Denuvo.

This is good news for those who boycotted the game due to the presence of Denuvo, as they can now buy it without this technology. Denuvo was developed to prevent piracy in games and ended up becoming the great enemy of PC gamers. For a while it has been a useless tool with negative effects on games and an additional cost for game developers.

Despite the latest version of Denuvo being cracked, most recent PC releases still remain unbroken, with the exception of Resident Evil 4 Remake, which will likely be hacked by Empress.

The latest update for The Diofield Chronicle includes new story content, gameplay mechanics, maps, quests and bosses. The update will be automatically downloaded by Steam the next time the client is launched. Watch the update trailer below:
