Cyberpunk 2077 Map Size Estimate Suggests It's Twice as Big as GTA 5
Big Night City.
YouTuber EdgeRunner Cold has managed to estimate the size of Cyberpunk 2077's map through the magic of some serious detective work. The video above is well worth a watch if you want a full explanation.
The short version is that by taking on-screen coordinates from the game's latest photo mode trailer, EdgeRunner Cold was able to approximate certain locations with a promising degree of accuracy. These locations were then placed over an existing map of Night City (and the surrounding Badlands), and from there, we get a decent idea of how big the open world actually is.
The end result suggests that we have a map that's around twice the size of the open world in Grand Theft Auto V — and around twelve times the size of Velen and Novigrad combined in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In other words, it's pretty big.
Again, this is some very impressive detective work. Did you think the world of Cyberpunk 2077 would be this large? Take a drive in the comments section below.
