Crunchyroll Ends Free Access; Catalog Becomes Exclusive

Crunchyroll has confirmed the end of the free ad-supported model on December 31, 2025. Starting on January 1, 2026, the platform will make all its anime catalog exclusive to subscribers of the paid plans.

Although free access had already been limited in recent years — with new releases and weekly episodes restricted to premium subscribers —, this complete discontinuation is a significant move towards total monetization.
