GSC Game World, the Ukrainian studio responsible for the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, reported through its official Twitter account that it was the target of a Russian hacker attack. The statement details that a community on a Russian social network has obtained game data and is threatening the studio with publishing this information.

The studio further reported that it has been the target of constant cyberattacks for over a year, including blackmail, acts of aggression, hackers and attempts to damage the development process and the company's reputation. In the statement, GSC Game World asks fans not to view or distribute unofficial information about the game, as outdated and unfinished materials may undermine the final idea of the game.

In regards to the information leak, a community of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 claimed to have a wealth of material about the game, including a complete story, cutscene descriptions, concept art, and global maps. However, they state that they do not intend to share all the information before the official release of the game, as this could lead to the game being canceled or postponed.

Instead, they ask that GSC Game World change its attitude towards Belarusian and Russian players by unbanning the NF Star profile on their official Discord and bringing back the RU location.

Finally, GSC Game World read the official note from the team on Twitter:
