Warzone and Modern Warfare are heading underground

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone’s latest season is almost here, Infinity Ward gave players a few hints about what the update will include in the first trailer. It seems that when the new season begins on Sept. 29, a new subway system will open up underneath Verdasnk.

The trailer starts with radio chatter as two characters navigate dark and abandoned tunnels. They mention that they need to find a way to power the trains, and that there are enemies coming through the tunnels. One of the operators is revealed to be Farah, from the Modern Warfare campaign, who takes out all the enemies in the tunnel then radios to a man named Nikolai.

Nikolai activates the power to the underground tunnels and we soon see that the two characters are in an underground subways system. Nikolai and Farah, who are both likely to come to Warzone and Modern Warfare as actual operators in season 6, board one of the cars and head out into Verdansk.

One especially interesting feature of the trailer comes just after all the action has stopped. After their subway car pulls away, the camera cuts to a view of a map of Verdansk where we see seven new subways stations have been added to the map in a route that goes around the entire outside of the play area.

While it’s still too early to know how these new subway stations and their cars will impact the map, they’re sure to provide some new places to fight and some quicker transportation, at the very least.

As for the other additions that season 6 might hold for Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare, we’ll have to wait for more information from Infinity Ward as we get closer to the season’s launch on Sept. 29.
