Microsoft puts the first wings out

Even with the resounding success of Call of Duty: Mobile, especially after the arrival of the game in the Chinese market, everything indicates that the game will be replaced by Warzone: Mobile.

Microsoft has informed the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) that it plans to gradually replace Call of Duty Mobile with Warzone Mobile, which will launch later this year, in countries outside of China.

This move is part of Activision Blizzard's billion-dollar acquisition process, which is being evaluated by regulators around the world. While Activision has yet to officially announce the game's future, Microsoft intends to focus its efforts on Warzone Mobile in order to bolster the success of the battle royale game, which is slated to arrive in 2023 and share the progress and pass of battle with Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0.

Despite the imminent change, the game should remain with the same name in China, which since 2022 already has more than 650 million downloads. Even after Warzone Mobile launches, it will take some time for Activision to phase out the original game.
