In an effort to make the gaming experience fairer and more enjoyable, Blizzard is committed to fighting cheaters who use unauthorized hacks or hardware to gain an advantage in Overwatch 2.

Since the title's launch in October of last year, over 100,000 accounts worldwide have been penalized by the company for making use of perks like aiming bots and wall hacks.

In a recent post on its official blog, Blizzard encouraged players to report cheaters in-game to help them identify and punish violators. The company's efforts to fight cheaters have resulted in around 5,000 accounts being banned each week.

Blizzard also released the "Defense Matrix Initiative", which provides updates to combating cheaters in Overwatch 2, as well as measures to reduce disruptive in-game behavior. The company is implementing systems to detect, discourage and prevent such behavior, as well as encourage good player behavior in matches.

Complaints made by players are essential to make the game increasingly free of toxic behavior. Blizzard is committed to developing its systems, rules, and gameplay to create safe, fair, and fun experiences for all players. New updates on the matter will be released soon.

Overwatch 2 is available for free on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
