Assassin's Creed Valhalla's New Patch Has Introduced a Bad Face-Breaking Bug

A bad case of lockjaw.

Bloody hell, it looks like the latest update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla — patch 1.011 — has introduced a rather annoying bug. The aforementioned update focusses on fixes for a huge number of (relatively minor) issues, but somehow, it's also managed to break the game's facial animation system. It's never easy, is it?

The problem popped up on Reddit earlier today, and now that same thread is packed with people saying that they're running into the same bug. We had to try this out for ourselves, and we stumbled across the issue almost immediately. Not every scene in the game appears to be impacted by the bug, but those that are see non-playable characters unable to move their mouths while talking. They just stand there staring into Eivor's soul as words fill the air. It's all horribly unsettling, and obviously rips you right out of the experience.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has already had its fair share of technical problems, and although many of these issues have been cleared up over the last couple of months, new bugs is the last thing that the open world adventure needs. Here's hoping that it's a quick fix.
