Alan Wake II receives chilling launch trailer

Game arrives this Friday, October 27th

Remedy Entertainment unveiled the launch trailer for Alan Wake II during the Xbox Partner Preview 2023, held on Wednesday, October 25th.

The trailer features some in-game scenes, including gameplay moments with Saga Anderson, who uses a flashlight to render enemies vulnerable and then takes them down with her weapon. It's also possible to see Alan Wake in tense situations, surrounded by the supernatural.

Alan Wake II's lead narrative designer, Molly Maloney, discussed the importance of Saga Anderson in the story.
 

"In many ways, Saga, not Alan, is the anchor of the story. While Alan is trapped in the Dark Place – a nightmare world that reflects his fractured psyche – Saga is very much in our world (though it frays at the edges in its own way). 'She provides an entry point for newcomers to the franchise,' explains Maloney. 'She's got a fresh set of eyes coming into Bright Falls – she also gives us a way to be in Bright Falls... Having Saga here to face the situation from an external, impartial perspective, trying to analyze and understand what's happening here, is really crucial to telling the story.'"

Recently, Remedy Entertainment also revealed the game's release times in different regions and the system requirements for running Alan Wake II on PC.

In Alan Wake II, a series of ritualistic murders in Bright Falls, a small town in the Pacific Northwest, leads FBI agent Saga Anderson to a terrifying experience as elements of a horror story come to life. Meanwhile, writer Alan Wake attempts to use his words to escape a supernatural nightmare, facing unimaginable horrors.

Both become heroes on desperate journeys, connected in mysterious ways, influencing each other and the world around them.

Alan Wake II will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 27.
