Esports team 17Gaming, representing China, were crowned champions of PUBG Global Series 1 (PGS 1), held at Battle Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from May 5-7, 2023.

The competition was organized by KRAFTON, Inc. and had the participation of 24 teams from all over the world, which competed for a total prize pool of US$ 500,000 and 200 PGS points.

After three intense days of competition and a total of 18 matches, 17Gaming managed to win and take home the US$80,000 prize pool. EMEA Acend took second place, followed by China's Tianba Esports in third place.

Other EMEA teams such as Twisted Minds, Natus Vincere and HOWL occupied the 5th, 10th and 11th positions respectively.

Although 17Gaming got off to a slow start in the competition, placing 19th in the Group Stage and dropping down to the Losers' Bracket, they bounced back and showed an overwhelming performance on Day 2 of the Grand Finals, taking the lead and holding that position until the end of the tournament.

Danawa esports team leader "seoul" was named the MVP of the PGS 1 tournament, with nearly two kills per game and causing significant damage to his opponents.

KRAFTON also announced details of the upcoming PUBG Global Series 2 (PGS 2), which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from August 10-20, 2023. With a prize pool of USD 2,000,000, PGS 2 will feature with 24 teams from around the world competing under an updated set of rules, including the addition of the Taego map.
